Intrepid Dance Company offers the opportunity to train with some of the best choreographers and educators in the industry. Being exposed to so many different styles, perspectives, and creative processes has allowed me to grow in versatility, adaptability and so much more. Being in such an intimate environment with such highly respected professionals has opened up a world of doors for me. This program has truly changed my life, as it has for many others.

Growing up in a small town in Manitoba, I always knew I wanted to dance professionally. Even saying that dream out loud sometimes felt a bit unrealistic, because pursuing a career in dance wasn’t common. When I received a scholarship to Intrepid after attending an OTF event in Winnipeg, it felt like the perfect transition toward my dreams.

For two years, I trained every day across many different styles in a program that truly pushed us to work hard. The grit, determination, and perseverance I developed during that time are qualities I still carry with me today. The training was incredibly high quality and led by working professionals who shared invaluable knowledge about the industry.

Beyond the training, I met mentors who continue to inspire me even when I’m not dancing with them every day, as well as friends who shared the same passion and drive. My time at Intrepid helped shape me into a strong, smart dancer.

Intrepid dance program prepared me to dance professionally on a world stage; I have now been dancing professionally for a year at the Moulin Rouge in Paris. I am forever grateful for my time at Intrepid

The program provides dancers with unique opportunities that set it apart from any other training environment. One of the aspects that truly distinguishes Intrepid is its exceptional faculty. Having the opportunity to work with some of the industry’s top professional dancers and choreographers allowed me to gain invaluable insight and knowledge through their real-world experiences. My time at Intrepid was truly special—it is so much more than a dance company; it is a lifelong family. The faculty genuinely has each dancer’s best interests at heart and continuously encourages growth by pushing us beyond our comfort zones across all styles. Intrepid fosters a safe and welcoming environment where you are empowered to be your authentic self every single day. The level of talent in the room is incredibly inspiring, and the support among dancers is unmatched. The friendships formed here are lasting and meaningful. My experience at Intrepid allowed me to grow in ways I never thought possible, both personally and professionally. Upon graduating, I felt fully prepared and confident as I entered the industry, where I am now on my third cruise ship contract with RWS Global. I am truly grateful for my time at Intrepid Dance Company and would highly recommend it to any dancer looking to grow, be challenged, and feel supported while pursuing a professional career.

Participating in the process of empowering a new generation of dance artists is a privilege I don’t take lightly. Connecting with students, nurturing criticality, challenging assumptions, and helping students step into a sense of artistic ownership continues to inspire my practice. I’m so grateful to be able to support dancers as they hone their professional skills at Intrepid. I am forever indebted to the students for sharing in their learning and growth.
